Editorial position

This site explains mechanisms. It does not recommend systems, suppliers or policies, and it does not argue for or against border surveillance. Every factual statement is traceable to a public document, named where it is used and linked where that document is publicly held; where sources disagree, the disagreement is shown rather than resolved. The method is set out in full on the about page, and the documents it relies on are listed on the sources page.

There is no advertising on this site, no affiliate link, no sponsored placement and nothing for sale. No organisation named on these pages has commissioned, reviewed or contributed to them.

How programmes and organisations are named

Programmes, institutions and products are named where the public record names them, and described as that record describes them. Naming a programme is not an endorsement of it and naming an organisation is not a claim about it beyond what the cited document supports.

Where a page describes what an organisation published about its own work, it says so, because an organisation describing itself is a different kind of evidence from an independent assessment. Where a claim rests only on supplier material, the page marks it as a supplier claim rather than repeating it as a verified figure.

Images and diagrams

Diagrams on this site are original work, drawn from published figures, and each states its method in its caption. They are illustrations of a geometric or procedural relationship, not depictions of any particular installation.

Photographs fall into two groups. Recovered documentary photographs show terrain and equipment at a European research demonstration; each carries the place and date in its caption. Terrain studies show landscape only. No photograph on this site depicts an identifiable individual: where a recovered frame contained recognisable faces it was cropped past them or not used at all. No supplier logo, wordmark or promotional image appears anywhere on the site.

Corrections and rights

Corrections are made in the sentence they affect, on the page where they appeared — see contact for what to include. If you hold rights in material reproduced here and consider its use unjustified, write to the address above with the specifics and it will be removed or replaced while the question is examined rather than after.

What data this site processes, and what it does not, is set out under privacy.
